As everyone in Wisconsin patiently (inpatiently in many cases) awaits the actual coming of spring, we here at SixFifty have been busy with the development of our first sponsored mountain bike team. With a great deal of help from Wheel and Sprocket, and our Pro Sponsors ESI Grips (esigrips.com) and Crank Brothers (crankbrothers.com), we have been able form a team of Pro caliber riders. Team manager, Taylor Bogdanske, has already stated, “The upcoming season looks to be a successful one. We have two USA Cycling Cat 1 / Pro women riders (April Dombrowski, Lori Sable), four Cat 2 Comp [(WORS) WORS.org] Riders, and one Cat 2 Sport (WORS) Rider. As a mid-size team, we should fare pretty well in team competition for the [WORS] Series in 2013.”
This week we recieved our team kit order from Voler. The new kits look super sharp and extra fast, let’s hope we can live up to their speed potential. The first race kicks off May 5th in Iola, and judging by the weather we’ve been having, there may not be much time to re-tune our skills on the mountain bikes, but rest assured, the team will be ready!
Be sure to follow our blog here at sixfifty.com, our facebook page and at the surrounding area happenings for the latest info and updates on the team and the season as it develops.
Keep turning those cranks! ~CN
